Default Approved for Loan Mod, Filed Chapter 7, Falling Apart

I am hoping someone might be able to offer some help/perspective. I have been working since last August on a loan mod with GMAC, We have our 1st and 2nd with them and never had a late payment on either nor have we ever been late on property taxes. We were finally approved for a loan mod in February, paperwork was sent to us in March, which we had notarized and sent back. Meanwhile, my husband and I met with an attorney to file chapter 7 (we passed the means test based on the #’s from the loan mod). Meanwhile, we find out from GMAC there was an error in the paperwork and that they are sending out new paperwork and were “re approved” on April 16th for the loan mod, same terms. Well, we filed our chapter 7 on April 18th, they got the notification, and now they are saying that they won’t honor it. Meanwhile, they had told us not to make the March payment, the April payment was the “modified” amount, but now they want the March payment and the higher interest rate, and the difference for the April payment, and of course the May payment – nearly 10K! Do I have ANY recourse? I have a message into our BK attorney but I am curious if anyone has any perspective on this. By the way, the difference in the monthly payment is $990.
