Did anyone watch the debate last night? During the debate John McCain indicated that he would, if elected, tell the US Teasurer to buy up all the bad loan and remodify them so people could stay in their houses. I'm sure it's just to shore up some votes, but he did hit Obama hard about the approval of Congress to lower credit restrictions for Fannie and Freddie MAC. Obama is some sort of teflon king though, nothing sticks to him. I don't know if he is the quite the ray of hope everyone wants him to be. He is a great speaker though, and since the president is little more than a figure head - perhaps his inspiring speeches will make people happy and forget their troubles and then they will shop, and the banks will lend, and everyone will be happy again. I'm sorry, got a bit off topic there...just that Obama is from Chicago, part of the Chicago political machine and if you live here you know that no good comes from that...no matter how good it sounds. (and he does sound good). Anyway, wondering if anyone caught the debate and what your thoughts are/where about John McCain's comments. |
