Behind 7 payments, dx cancer, no hope

My mom was just diagnosed with cancer about 4 weeks ago and told me on our way to treatment that she is behind on her house payment, 7 months! She is in no condition to move. She has not contacted anyone in regards to this. I advised her to call HOPE to see if they can do anything for her. Her loan is a fixed 6.7% with HOME EQ. Her credit is shot so a refi is out of the question. I do know that she has to come up with 14 thousand by the end of the month and on a fixed income and given the cost of her meds, it is unlikely that she can pull it off. I am not sure where they are in the process of foreclosure, but given the circumstances, I assume pretty close. What else can I do to help? :(
