i became ill and eventually lost my income. however, the loan is in my husband's name and based on his income. of course...we have fallen behind and our case was just assigned to a negotiator...after several calls. we have now been 'served.' all of this within twenty-four hours. we have a great deal of equity and am afraid if they do not approve the modification he is going to work on...that we will lose all of it. also, since we do not have significant debt other than mortgage am not sure about the bankruptcy route. REALLY don't know what to think or do! The negotiator did say we would need 30% which we can most likely come up with....something about the hardship having passed. Very confused, overwhelmed. We live in Illinois.
