Countrywide Fight to SUCCESS!! I have an original loan from Countrywide. We got behind on our payments and was recommended for a modification of the loan. Mind you, this was in October 2007. I provided them all the documents that they requested and at first they told me I would have to go into a repayment plan. A negotiator was assigned and she contacted me and advised that I did not qualify for a repayment plan and that she would recommend a loan modification. So, I was assigned another negotiator and waited patiently. I have contacted Countrywide every single week since Octobert and FINALLY on April 17th I was contacted and advised that my modification was approved. They told me the amount I would need to send in with the paperwork I was supposed to receive but when they told me the new monthly payment, there was a typo on the papers and it showed the new payment to be 63.00 a month. I told them there was no way that could be correct and she advised she would contact the negotiator and get it corrected. Here we are at May 8th and I still have not received anything from them. And to make the story even better, last week when I contacted them, they advised that they had a bunch of accounts that were cancelled out in error. The rep I spoke with was going to escalate it to his supervisor and she was supposed to contact me letting me know the monthly payment and when to expect the documents. Well, today I received a collection call from Countrywide wanting to know when I would be paying the past due amount. Now keep in mind, they advised me not to make any payments until the modification was worked out, because it would mess up the numbers. So, I am about 7 months behind now and they are telling me that the modification will have to be started all over again because the account was closed out in error. THEIR ERROR. I just got off the phone with another rep who assured me that it is noted all over the account that they modification was approved and he was also going to escalate it to his supervisor also. I haven't heard a word from the first supervisor yet and I need to know who to contact higher up to get this worked out. I don't see how in the world they can call me and let me know that it is approved and now just say oops, we have to start all over. They have made it now to where I won't be able to catch it up without their help. I should have listened to my inner voice and kept making the payments, but they assured me it would just delay the process. Anyone out there have a phone number or an email address where I can voice my problem and maybe get some help???? |
