Default Countrywide Horror to SUCCESS thanks to zinomortgage!!

In September 2007 I fell two months behind on my mortgage payment and contacted Countrywide for a resolution. They offered me two options; either a repayment plan or a workout to basically modify the loan and get a fresh start. I opted for the workout and the next day faxed in the requested paperwork. I was told to have one payment available, as that was what would be requested of me. I made several calls to Countrywide over the next several days asking for a status and was told to check back in several weeks. In the beginning of October I received a letter from Countrywide advising that my workout had been denied due to lack of documentation. I called Countrywide again and was told that my account was notated that the documentation was received two days after the letter was sent to me. I was asked to again send in the requested documentation. Again, I made calls to Countrywide on a weekly basis and was told my account was under review and to check back the following week. In the meantime I was served with foreclosure paperwork in November. I contacted Countrywide yet again and spoke to "Jennifer C." in the Customer Service Center who seemed to take a direct interest in the situation. I was asked (for a third time) to fax in paperwork, which I did, but unfortunately, despite her promises and assurances that she would follow-up with the negotiator, I never received a follow-up call from her. Thus began a situation where I called Countrywide ever two weeks and was told every two weeks I had to call back in two weeks. In March I called and was finally put in touch with a negotiator (who didn't give me his name) and was told it was still being worked on but I would need to have two payments available. I assured him I could do this and was told to call back Finally, at the end of May 2008, I was told my workout request was rejected due to lack of unavailable funds. I was told I would need a minimum of four payments available to initiate a workout. I explained I found that to be unreasonable, since it had taken Countrywide by this time NINE MONTHS to process this request. I was told that she apologized for the misinformation but that a workout wouldn't be re-initiated unless I had the four payments available. She said she would request that amount and call me back, with it, which she never did. Thus began a game of phone tag... I would try to call Countrywide and be left on hold so log I would have to disconnect. I would get calls at home with automated messages asking me to call, and when I did I would be placed on hold and disconnected. This past Saturday I received paperwork with a pending sale date. I called Countrywide again and was told I would need to have six payments available to initiate a workout. When I asked what would happen if I called in Monday and said I had that money ready to submit she couldn't give me an answer and, after taking my financials, told me to put my house on the market.I called Countrywide again on Monday and was told to fax in documentation for a modification, including a hardship letter (the text of which is this post), bank statements and paystubs. Then after stumbling on this site this morning, I spammed all of the addresses listed and called Tabitha this afternoon.Everything said about her is true; she's the first helpful person I've spoken to, and when I told her I got her number here she laughed and said she's heard from alot of this board's members. She had me fax paperwork directly to her, and when I called her again she said she had it and by Thursday she should know who's going to handle it. She also said something to me no one at Countrywide has said to me... "we want to keep you in your house if it's in anyway possible." I told her I was in a panic when I called but she said "don't worry, even if we're still working this the day before the sale date we'll postpone it." So hopefully I'm on the road to a resolution, but in the meantime do you guys have any other advice or suggestions for me? This board is a godsend; I'm so relieved to know I'm not the only person that's had these problems with Countrywide.
