| First let me update you on my situation with Option One. Almost right at the beginning of spring break (I work for the school district; what a way to begin a vacation!!!!) , I was served with foreclosure papers, which of course was very unpleasant. I had consulted with an attorney who is our former county DA (he prosecuted a number of very high profile murder cases, some of which garnered national attention) and Kansas Attorney General. He was very interested in taking on Option One but unfortunately, could not find solid grounds for a lawsuit with which to go after them. He did agree that I had been victimized and that the whole thing was totally unfair. To help me out, he referred to me to another lawyer who does bankruptcy cases. That lawyer immediately filed an answer to the summons in the district court which, as some of you know, stops the foreclosure process indefinitely. He told me to try and work on getting a loan mod in the meantime; if that didn't work, then go for Ch. 13 bankruptcy. I felt a wee bit better but very disappointed that I couldn't take OOMC to court (I had fantasized SO many times about slapping them with a multi BILLION class action. You know the saying, "When one door closes, another one opens"? Well, that's what happened here. Before I consulted the former Atty General, I had begun work on a project, a film exposing OOMC and its parent company, H&R Block for the bad apples they are, and telling my own story as well. I had suspended work on it while in consultation with the ex-Atty Gen because if he DID find grounds for a lawsuit, I didn't want to make matters worse for myself. But now that door is wide open, and it's a wrap on my film, "Predator" which I just uploaded to YouTube last night. It's about 18 minutes long, with excerpts by victims taken from Ripoffreport.com, which I put together in iMovie. The entire film consists of still images, some of which are my own photos, and rendered 3D images I created in a graphics program. The whole process took me a month to finish, with lots of editing and hand-wringing and late nights. I portrayed both companies in a very unflattering light (which most likely will rile them, but truth is, I don't care if they send their legal eagles after me; it'll just draw media attention). Some people may even find it politically inflammatory because I do have harsh words for our esteemed Dubya, whom I blame for the whole mess this country is in. Controversial or not, it's my way of fighting back against a predatory lender. And guess what, I plugged this site BIG time! "Predator" focuses on Option One and H&R Block, but the message applies to other subprime lenders and their victims as well. If you like what you see, you are more than welcome to download it to your computers, burn the film to disc (all I ask is that you not change it in any way, shape or form) and share it with your relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers, even send copies to the media newspapers, TV stations and primetime news magazines. I myself plan to burn copies to CD and send them out to Senators Clinton and Obama, my Congressman, local TV stations, all the major networks, Oprah and others that I can think of.....
