First Franklin Nightmare: Please Help!! I purchased my home in July of 2007. I put 10% down and had one loan at 90%LTV at 9.8% interest loan balance 517,000. I was running a construction business in arizona that fell apart as the market tanked. My rate was very high initially because i had to go stated due to the fact the my income was not in a regular paycheck and was irregular in distributions. My business completely fell apart in December 2007. I got behind on payments with first franklin in March 2007. I started a loan modification in April 2007. This process was ridiculously difficult. I faxed documents 3 different times to the numbers that they gave me. They said packages never came through. I sent the package to an efax of a supervisor and finally they got the package. I had since gotten a new job offer and the reps said it would be fine if I sent my letter of employment for them to process the application. I called twice and they said my information had been sent to there clerical department that the reps were no longer able to handle the packages and themselves and they no longer had direct lines(which made it impossible to get a consistent answer. I called again and they said they now needed 2 paystubs before they could process my file. I had to wait for enought time to elapse in order to get these stubs. This cost me another month dealing with them. Then i spoke to a rep who said they would not even consider a modification if i was current for 12 payments into my loan. So, i borrowed money to get current on my loan which now has taken much longer than i ever anticipated. Continuing on i sent them the paystubs, they came back later that week and said that the extension on tax return would not work and they would need 2006. I sent them over 2006 taxes and then a few days later they said my paystubs were now out of date, and so i had to send them current stubs. This put my case into june. Finally, i spoke to a rep who said that my case had finally been sent to a negotiatior and i should hear a response with 45 days. Called in July to check on the progess and they said that they had no record of my file being sent. I got a supervisor on the phone Bryan Littell and had to refax him my entire package, which occurred in the beginning of august. The package had to go through clerical and now i have confirmation from 3 different reps that the package has been sent to the negotiation team and i should be assigned a rep within the next 30 days and then and decision should be made 30 days after that. -I called the attorney on this site and it is expensive to have them be an adovocate for me. I am working with them to come up with a payment plan, but currently that is very difficult because first franklin says i have to be current for them to accept a modification. -My wife is currently pregnant 30 weeks, my medical bills are also piling up, i am at shortfall of over $1,000 given my current mortgage on this house. Please help get through this nightmare. Chad |
