Default Help witih Ocwen loan mod

Hello, Two years ago we bought our house..We were put onto a 5 year arm interest only loan. A few months after we purchased the house my wife lost her job...our income dropped by 50%. We had enough savings to sustain us till a few months ago when we started struggling to pay our mortgage. We are in a unique situation that when we purchased the home they only put her on the loan because my credit was bad. Since then my credit has gone up and hers indevitably down. Because although we have records Ocwen marked her as late on the mortgage. I have talked to Ocwen several times..all individuals from India ranging from nice to not so nice.. They have sent us loan modification paper work. Reading this site gives me some hope and some concern... Where do I start and what do I need to show? What if I cant show what they want to see? (money wise) Thanks for any advice...
