Default HFC and just beginning......

We have kept our first mortgage current. However, we are now 6mths behind in our 2nd mortgage. This mortgage is with HFC. I was told to file a hardship letter with documentation. I have a fuestions that I am hoping someone here can help me with... Income/expense worksheet. First, I can not get their online or printed form to work. After hours of reading on here, I see that they like to see 200-300 surplus at the end of each month. Is this after everything...gas, groceries, clothes, kids lunch money, etc.... After looking at the form in the Tool Box, it seems that it is more interested in car payments, loans and untilities. I need the "dummies guide to filling out the worksheet". What is the general experience with 2nd mortgage lenders? Our house value has decreased greatly and at current, they would only be helping our primary lender out. Their would not be any left over. What is a typical arrangement that is reasonable with a second mortgage? Thanks for the help and wish me luck.....sounds like I am going to need it.
