Default Homeq is no help!!!!

 I decided not to pay for a company to help with the modification because I have no extra money. My mortgage is up to date. I sent in all the modification info, and received a phone call from their 'mitigation department' They had an offer!! Yahoo! or so I thought. The offer was for 6.75% and to add Insurance and Taxes to my principal. I asked what the Principal and Interest would be...no answer. Then I asked what the offer was-it was to add Taxes and Ins to my payment. I told them it was a 'non offer'. They agreed they were making no concessions to the interest or even the payment. They were going to change nothing for me, except to make sure I paid the taxes and insurance which I do anyway. How stupid do they think I am. How ridiculous....I hate myself for getting into these predatory mortgages....why was I so stupid.....There is no help out there! Anyone care to comment on the companies that say they will help negotiate for you?? Do they really work??? I am in need of help!!!
