i wish i read this forumn 2 days sooner,found it thru article about mozzillo in ny post.ok heres my story.i'll try to shorten it.Life was going good we had 1st mortgage and heloc,paying fine.My husband gets very ill ,boss fires him when he realizes hes a liability(he wasn't cabable of working anyway)i have to close our small business (metal fabrication) i can't run without him.I liquidate our 401 and pay mortgage and equity for another year as i take care of my husband.I spend thousands of dollars renovating my house so it will garner highest price when i put it up for sale.at this point house has been for sale for 6 months lots of lookers no bids.Real estate agent says mint condition,great location,bad market.My house went from being appraissed at 350,000 to now trying to sell 199,999 pending bank approval.We owe about 238,000, so more than its for sale. My husband is totally disabled and im his primary caretaker ,we haven't paid loans for 1 year,its gone to court for foreclosure but no sale date.I just sent 50 pgs of info to countrywide 2 days ago asking to hand over deed in lieu of sale,i was told that i wouldn't be getting a phone call from negotator unless he needed info and it would take at least a month to get one assigned to my case.i have moved out of house because utilites have been shut off ,i have moved to a home we bought several years ago as a retirement home near my grandchildren,thankfully we have no mortgage on it.....but.....can they come after that home ? after reading this forumn i don't have any faith that countrywide will help us and i don't know if i can claim bankruptcy in ny if i own other property.I also have debt from renovation,which i wish i never did but who knew market would crash. i feel so alone and so confused and worried they will come after this house and did i make mistake telliong them i am no longer living in my home?thanks
