Default Indymac 1st Mortgage and Citi Mortgage as 2nd

Ok, here is my situation. I have a $250,000 1st mortgage with Indymac and a $63,000 2nd mortgage with Citi Mortgage. Houses in my neighborhood have depreciated greatly, a house larger than mine just sold for $220,000. I am also in the midst of filing chapter 7 bankruptcy and have a 2nd house with Indymac that I was going to shortsale. Where should I start? I would like to keep my first house, as this is my HOME. I lost my business this year so my income has gone down and is only $36,000 a year. Should I let Indymac know that I am filing for bankruptcy but would like to see about doing a loan modification to keep my house. I just don't know where to start.
