legal fees being added up .. outrageously

first, i wanted to thank all for the advice on getting with the BK attorney which i did earlier today to getting a automatic stay .. my question is .. before i defaulted the loan .. my loan balance was abt 209k .. i did not make any payments for the last 10 months, now my loan balance become about 260k .. my monthly payment was 2,000 a month .. i was thinking if i did not make payments 2k/month for 10 months .. roughly i would owe an additional 20k to the 209k = 229k plus fees, ect .. is it plausible for the fees to be twice as much as your missed payments ? is there a way i could to to have the lender to lower this fees. by the way, i have litton servicing company as my servicer. pls advise. thanks.
