Like everyone else Thank you for having this site. I have been reading the stories for awhile now and some of my questions have been answered. But some not. We purchased a home in 2005 during the housing boom and subprime era. We have a 80/20 loan and our 1st is with Chase. In 2006 our household's income decreased. In late October 2007 I called Chase to see if something could be done as our income had decreased and our ARM was going to adjust from 6.5% to 8.05% in December 2007. We had attempted to refinance several times but because the homes were depreciating and the loss of income we were unable to refinance. I even called Hope Now whcih was not a helpful experience at all.. Well the mortgage adjusted and its been a struggle since to make matters worst it is suppose to adjust again in June 2008 to 11%. To keep current on our mortgage payments some of the other bills are going iinto default. In March 2008 I subnitted a hardship letter and all the required information to Chase and am currently waiting for some information. I followed up last week but haven't been able to talk to the specialist who has my "case". However when I couldn't get a hold of him I called back and didn't put the extention # in so I could talk to someone. I was told that my case was sent to the underwriter on April 1. I don't know what this means but I really hope we are approved... Thanx for being there.... |
