After a period of illness and college expenses from my daughter's last year of college, I fell behind on my mortgage payments and applied this past April for a loan modification with my mortgage holder, First Franklin Home Loan Services. I had to fax in the paperwork twice until they finally received it. I called several times to find out the status of my application and was told that it was being processed. In the meantime, I received a notice of foreclosure and I voiced my concern to the person from the Loan Resolution Team and was told that while my application was being processed, the foreclosure process (

He told me that I had been approved for a pre-modification where I would need to make 3 payments in a row before the actual modification would take affect. I asked him what I needed to do at this point and he said just to wait and someone would be calling me. The first of August came and still no call. Soon afterwards I received a notice from the Sheriff of sale of my home. It is scheduled for October 1st. I called the Loan Resolution Team and was told that a pre-modification was being worked out for me and that it was with a mitigator. They gave me her name and extension. I began calling her on August 5th and have left a message on her voicemail every other day since. I still have yet to get a call back from her. Many times I have called the Loan Resolution Team back and told them that I haven't been successful getting ahold of her and two agents even said they were going to email her to let her know my concern and to see what the status is. They all have told me not to worry because there is plenty of time. October 1st is right around the corner and doesn't seem like there is plenty of time to me. The agent who answered the phone this past week was extremely kind. She told me she would email her for the status. She said that their department could even work out a repayment plan with me that could extend the sale date while the work on the modification was being processed. However, she said she didn't want to put me on a repayment plan if the modification was almost ready. She agreed that either way, I needed to know. So, here I am, Aughest 24th and I will try again tomorrow to get ahold of the mitigator. I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. I need to save my home as I am a single mom and have 3 children still at home and one of those has special needs. I just don't know where to turn and would welcome any advice. Thanks.
