Default Mortgage Companies DON'T Care About Us!

Well, here is my story. It seems I am far from alone. Wanting a stable life for my two children and having my own business was the reason for purchasing my home 5 years ago. I started over with no money, no job, and no credit in 2001 after my ex left us. I opened my own business out of my home, a home child care. It took a long time to establish my business, get credit, and start to become stable. It was far from easy but with determination and hard work we were making it. Last year my enrollment dropped to only two children for two months. That put me behind in everything, including my mortgage. I tried for the rest of the year to catch up. I just couldn't do it. When tax season rolled around I needed to file '06 and '07. I figured out that I would get enough to get caught up. In Feb. '08 a parent of a child on the subsidy program I accept signed their name too sloppy on the monthly enrollment form. Children's Services refused to pay that month until it was resigned. The due date was up and I had to wait until next month to get paid, putting me in the 3rd month late in my mortgage. My house went into foreclosure the day after my payment was late. I called Wachovia, who recently changed from World Savings, to see what I could do. I was told that the ONLY thing I could do at the time was to pay the reinstatement fee in full to save the house. My taxes came back and although they were enough to pay the back mortgage, they were NOT enough to pay the lawyer fee they had tacked on to the reinstatement quote. Weeks went by with my franticly saving almost every penny to put towards the reinstatement fees. It wasn't happening fast enough. Even though I have since gained more stable children and started to get things caught up and together, I was still running out of time with my mortgage. I called them a second time to see if I could modification on my loan. I was able to get a modification two years ago when I fell two months behind when the company was still World Savings. I paid that plan on time every single month and was able to catch up. This time, however, they informed me that the loan modification was a "one time only deal". I call back a third time, desperate. I talked them into looking into a second chance modification. I was declined right away due to my credit, which is horrible only due to the fact that almost EVERYTHING has went to the mortgage. I called back a fourth time. I begged and pleaded with ANYTHING I could do that would save my house. It was then and ONLY then that the underwriter informed me about another program that would put me on a payment program if I could come up with 50%-60% of the reinstatement quote. I expressed my anger at the fact that, had they told me that TWO MONTHS ago instead of weeks before my sell date and numerous "updated" and more costly quotes, that I could have taken care of the whole matter with my tax return!!! They could only apologize. My first quote was a bit over $6000. It is now a little under $13,000!!! I came up with $7000 down and was told I would put on a payment plan. I was so happy, I thought everything would be ok. They called me the next day and informed me that my payment plan was also DENIED! The $7000 wasn't good enough and they pretty much told me I was lying about my income because most of my income is from private pay parents that are billed from my own slips, of which did not match my bank account. The money was not in the bank account for the past few months that they looked at it because it is in an envelope IN MY HOME so it will not be SPENT! I cannot win with these people. My house goes in the papers June 5th unless I come up with $13000, of which I have $7000. I will lose my home and business and my children and I will have no where to go with a foreclosure and bad credit under my belt. I have tried every avenue that I know of, including trying to pawn my grandparents wedding ring. Nothing works in this economy. I am heartbroken that I will lose my house over a sloppy signature, pretty much. God have mercy on all of us that have to go through this!
