We purchased a new build three years ago. We made a nice profit on our old home, made a good size down payment on the new home and paid off credit cards. The first year we were in the house our first daughter went off to college. The student loans weren't enough to cover tuition. We got a two year fixed ARM. The loan adjusted last year at the same time my daughter came home from college and went right into rehab. We used our savings and mortgage payments for what the insurance didn't cover for her rehab. We called Litton and left messages aksing for help. Litton never returned our calls. We live in GA and I was told GA is one of the states to have the fastest foreclosure rate. We filed Chapter 13 to save the house. When we filed Litton decided to work with us. We came out of Chapter 13 the beginning of the year and started a loan modification (
http://www.modifyloan.net). Litton asked for a $4300 contribution. We received a call the beginning of this week and besides the $4300 they now want $2400, too. The extra money is April's mortgage payment. Litton said they are sending the commitment letter this week. We haven't received it yet. We are hoping against hope that it doesn't make here until next Friday. My husband is expecting a yearly bonus and we should be set if everything lines up. If not, we are sunk. We don't have the extra money at this moment. Patricia
