Default New Gov't "Bailout"?

I am not sure this is the correct forum, since it's not "My Story", you can see "My sotory" by searching for IndyMac. I was wondering if anyone knows how and if the new proposed Gov't bailout will help homeowners. I heard that the Gov't will buy bad mortgage debt from the banks. Will this be more of an incentive for banks to "write down" mortgage principles? Pretty much the same as the homeowner bill that will take effect Oct 1? Just on a much larger scale?Thoughts? information? Anyone?Thanks!-LisaStill waiting for an answer from IndyMac
