Default New here, scared & seeking advice about Litton

Hi. I shared my story in an earlier post, but have yet to get a response. Since I have a new dilemma with this company I decided to repost it here along with some new questions I have.I have read so many disheartening stories that I almost just feel like giving up before this fight begins like there is no way to escape foreclosure because they will figure out a way to out do me. So far, everything they have sent us has seemed legit. We have called them and gotten the runaround with vague details, which has not only pissed me off but left me feeling a little less confident that I will be staying in my home. Right now, I feel like crying. :confused:My husband's loan with Avelo, around $83,000, was recently sold to Litton. We are about five months behind on payments, but plan to catch them up as soon as he gets some inheritance money from his grandfather. On August 4, we received a Notice of Default and Intent to Accelerate letter from Litton, saying we must bring our loan current within 45 days are they will accelerate the maturity date and may then schedule foreclosure proceedings. Time is almost up.My questions are…1. Once we have the money, how should I pay Litton? The letter says, "Payment must be in the form of cashier's check, money order or bank certified funds." I have read some horror stories about them holding payments in order to collect fees, etc, and I don't want that to happen with us since they have given us a deadline. I was thinking of doing Western Union, but don't know if they we will honor that payment since that wasn't part of the options in the letter of if they will just hold it until the 45 days are up. I also thought about doing the bank certified funds, but feel they will hold that, too.2. If I have part of the money now, should I go ahead and send it? My husband feels that they will not take anything less than the amount requested so i will be wasting my money and time.3. Off to another topic…Last weekend I got a letter from them saying that they have no record of us having insurance. Well, I do and it's paid. I went to my insurance company, added my loan number to the account (which I did not do once our loan was sold to Litton) and update Litton's P.O. Box, and they said they will send the information to Litton. But I'm wondering is that enought. Do I need to also send a receipt of when I paid and the old policy stuff that I have that doesn't have the loan number and the new address just to be safe. It has their name, my name, address, etc., but I feel like I have to be very technical with these people or they will screw me over.3. Last question…Is there any options available with Litton to prevent foreclosure. Every time we ask we don't get an answer, just asked if we can make a payment (it's a little unsettling that the default counseling number is also the number you call to make a payment). When our loan was still with Avelo, we got the runaround until we said we talked with a bankruptcy attorney. Then they were willing to offer us a repayment/forbearance plan, which worked out okay. I don't want to file bankruptcy (it didn't seem right for us at the time) just to keep my home. What do you advise I do?I must say that I'm a new homeowner and somewhat clueless about certain things. Any help or advice will be appreciated.Thanks.
