Now I'm a.....Chase SUCCESS!! Hi-This is my first post as I just found this site last nite, I'm glad I did because I am now in emergency mode.I started my loan modification process with Chase in Jan '08, as my APR was set to adjust from a ridiculous 8.125 to an even more ridiculous 8.875 in March '08. Was told by Chase to start two months prior as that is how long it takes, and I wouldn't have to be late to do it. We could barely make the $1411 payment, much less a $1541. Plus, we have a second motgage that I modified in Nov '07 from 13.5 to 10.5--which is still way to high.Anyhow, the first faxed package, sent on Jan 16, did not make it in its entirety, so I mailed hard copies via certified mail on Jan 25. Called to ensure they made it--they had. Follow up calls on Feb 22, 28, March 4,14, 25, April 2, 11, 18, 29, May 2, 9, 22 ensured me "they were working on it, it was with an underwriter and it was just taking longer than usual" On the 22nd if May, my moderator submitted an inquiry with his supervisor. In the meantime, while I had been making all the payments, including the higher pymt, we had decided at that point, that we were not "in dire straits" enough--why would they modify a loan that I was making payments on?-- and decided to stop making payments, thinking the process would then be accelerated and it wouldn't take much loner. (How could it? I started five months ago!!) Calls on June 5, 9, 16, 23 were to no avail. On July 7, I was informed they could not find my paperwork. I had a file with my name in it, but no paperwork!?! Was given a new fax number--the "fast track " one and refaxed everything. As of July 18--that paper work is still "not in the system." I am refaxing everything today, with yet a new/different number they gave me on Fri.Meanwhile, I have received a Acceleration Warning (Intent to Foreclose)--not exactly the acceleration I was hoping for. Person I spoke to on Fri asked if I could send a full pymt($1541) to "buy me some time" which I can, but I'll have to rob Peter to pay Paul to do it, even tho I was told by others at Chase to hang on to payments for a down payment.Should I pay this or not? I'm calling today to request a forbearance--no one at Chase as mentioned that to help my situation in all this time. Won't that, in essence, "buy me some time" as well??I cannot lose this home. My kids would be devastated, but I am not sure what else to do at this time. Please help. |
