I had my both of my loans (80/20 loan) modified with Ocwen on March 10, 2008. I was never late with any of my payments or behind. I just wanted to start the loan modification process early because my loan was set to adjust November 2008. Ocwen approved the loan modification and I sent my down payment via MoneyGram and I thought that was the end. However, after the loan modification I noticed that my loan information was not updated online or in the phone system. I called Ocwen and sent countless emails to
ombudsmanweb@ocwen.com and I would always get the message “We are working on it” or “It will be updated in X days” or “The loan modification is still pending”. I constantly got the run around. I started receiving notices through the mail stating that my account was past due. Which it wasn’t because I was paying the amount that was stated in my loan modification agreement. Luckily one day, I ran across a post by Cat Damiano which listed some contact emails for Ocwen. So I decided to email each person on that list about my situation. Within 3 hours after sending the email I received a phone call from a guy named Josh G. You could tell that he was somewhat upset that I sent the emails, but I did not care. I wanted to get my accounts updated ASAP. He told me that he would personally handle my loan and that it would be updated within 24 hours. I must say that by 5pm that day my account info was updated online as well as on the phone system. My next step is to send Ocwen a Qualified Written Request so that I can get my final papers.Hopefully the information above will help others in similar situations like mine.
