Default Pre Qualified for Modification and Scared

Hello Everyone, I am new to the board and have been reading several threads and posts which I find very helpful. As many of you here, I am going through a very stressful time. I have a loan with Option One Mtg that has gone into foreclosure this month.

I had a modification that was being worked on prior to this and didnt find out that it had been denied until the day I received the call regarding the foreclosure. I received no call or any correspondence telling me of their decision. Anyways, the foreclosure is in process and a sale date has been set for June.

I did however speak with someone just yesterday and updated some financial information and based upon that he said we qualified for a modification. I guess that should be considered good news but with our past experience and denial I do not know how to take that. Now I need to fax over some documents they are requesting. Some of you mentioned a modification package of some sort. NO one mentioned that to me. Is that needed for a modification?

All I was told is to fax over those documents. I have also reached out to Acorn but have not heard from them yet. Its been over a week and I am told that I need to be assigned to a counselor. I also called the Hope Number....Is Hope Now, Home Preservation, and 995 Hope the same folks.( (Just curious of that). I went to the Home Preservation Website and was forwarded to the Consumer Credit Counseling (CCS). DO they assist with Foreclosures.

I am not interested in debt consolidation or management at the present time. Has anyone here have success with CCS? I would like to hear your experience.
