WOW, what a GREAT FORUM. Thanks Moe! Keep up the good work. This is my first post. I have sooo much information. I hardly know where to start or what first steps to take. I am self employed, having a bad year and out of money I called WAMU in mid July 08 to inform them I was struggling and did not think I would be able to make July's payment. Customer service extended the payment to August 5-08 by way of automatic withdrawal. I still missed July's payment. I know now that I am going to miss August's payment as well. After many requests for the so called work out package they kept telling me day after day would be faxed to me, I finally got some one who gave me this website (
www.wamu.com\wamucares) to download a borrowers assistance form. I filled it out, faxed it and over nighted it along with all the requested documents. It has been confirmed that they received the borrowers assistance form and all the required documents on July 31-08. It has also been confirmed that it was complete and nothing is missing and therefore has been forwarded to early loss mitigation were it is waiting to be assigned to a negotiator. As of today August 21-08 9:30 am it has not been assigned to a negotiator. I was informed that once it is assigned to a negotiator it will be under review for 21 days before any decisions are made. I was also informed that I could contact the assigned negotiator to discuss my file within those 21 days of review. What should I do in the meantime? Do I need a loan document audit or can I prepare a solid loan modification offer without it because I REALLY don't have any money for anything but survival mode at the moment. I have work out front of me. I just can't get to it until I get out from under some projects that I under estimated and also behind on. My offer will probably be something tolerable for me only. So I don't know what to think about basically telling the bank to take it or leave it. Ok I'll stop at that for now. I know there are all kinds of directions I can go with this. Thanks a million
