Will converting to Chapter 7 affect my loan modification

I cannot get a straight answer from ASC. My husband and I filed Chapter 13 approx 2 years ago. I lost my job and we could not keep up with the payments and other bills. My attorney suggested we convert to Chapter 7 so we could still keep our home but dismiss the utilities, hospital bills etc that had piled up. In the meantime I had been working with ASC for a loan modification. Much to my suprise we were approved! We went from an 11% 2 year ARM to a fixed rate of 5.86% We are thrilled! Yesterday our Chapter 7 was converted and today I got the news about the loan modification. I am scared to death that the when ASC finds out about the Chapter 7 they will not do the loan modification. ASC will get back to me "in a few days" and I cannot wait, the stress is killing me. Anyone with insight? Thanks so much, Marie
