How do I squat to get the title to crown land?

I know you are a mortgage company and probably don't like the idea of free land, however I would borrow to build. With that in mind this is my question:Particularly around Fort McMurray, Alberta, I want to know if it is possible to squat on crown land in this area and eventually obtain a clear title in my name? How do you do it? How does this compare to other areas of Canada? This questions stems from a conversation with my father, who thought it was possible with all the crown land surrounding this boomtown, I thought it impossible because I think everyone else there struggling for housing woulda thought of that by now.
