Default monitor status?

I was put into "monitor status" three months ago. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of this?

I sent in a letter of hardship, a request for modification with a profit/loss statement in January and was told that nothing could happen until my "monitor status" was over on April 1st. . Well, it's now the 14th and I haven't been able to get anyone to call me back.

Were they just trying to put me off by making up this whole monitor concept? We aren't and have never been late on our payments but can't stand to see our principal go up any more with this option arm. Our only financial option the neg am payment.

After reading this forum, I'm wondering if I should have been more specific on what I wanted Countrywide to do as far as a loan modification. Should I write another letter with exactly what I can afford to pay?

Are they even going to consider a modification seeing that we are not delinquent on our payments? thanks, I enjoy all the input on this forum. I really want to win this battle.
