Default When a property deed of trust is paid in full what do I need

I am getting conflicting information regarding a deed of trust.When the note/deed of trust is paid in full some articles states that need a reconveyance from the trustee, other states thetrustee title to the property is void at payoff.What do I need to make the property is in my name correctly.
